‘The Watchman’

 The Watchman, Hollyhock. Drought hardy once established, biennials originating in China. The single mallow like blooms are dark black maroon with a prominent yellow stigma. These are held in small clusters along tall stems reaching up to 1.8m tall. The round mallow leaves are course and leathery.  Stake well due to Perths strong winds.  Enjoys full sun and well drained quality soil. It is a long blooming biennial plant that will set seed for future generations (non invasive).
