Salvia Timboon

There are more than 900 species of Salvia and ‘Timboon’ is a stunning upright shrub with masses of carmine red flowers.  It is a cross between S. involucrata and S. karvinskii with the flowers showing the size and strength of S. involucrata.  It is hardy to moderate frosts and extended dry periods and grows to around 1.5 to 2 m high and 1 to 1.5 m wide.  The eye catching red flowers occur from late autumn to early spring and make a statement in any garden.  Bringing winter bees and birds.  Flowering from May to August

It requires regular feeding with Osmocote Slow Release and a biannual prune to keep it looking its best.  Plant amongst other small Salvia, Roses or at the back of a colourful perennial garden bed.
